Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of Jan. 3-5, 2025, curated by WGLT's Lauren Warnecke. You can find more coverage on our Datebook - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WGLT's Weekend Scoop email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.
A craft project with a purpose: A grassroots card-making initiative benefitting Midwest Food Bank kicks off Friday with various pop-up creation stations and drop-off sites around town this month. 5-9 p.m. Friday at Threshold to Hope and Bobzbay Books; free. Details on the BN Artists Facebook page.
A ukulele convening: Musicians and groupies gather for a monthly all-ages ukulele jam. Note: this is a jam, not a class. Borrow or bring your own tiny guitar and prepare to play music from the group’s song book, posted online. 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Normal Township Hall; free. normalukejam.com.
No school, no problem: Looking for activities before your littles head back to school? How about a story time — or two? The Children’s Department at Bloomington Public Library has your winter break covered with a beefy Saturday story time (and Penguin Bingo!). And, Yoga Lab has an interactive reading on Saturday with bubbles (bubbles!) and songs for the kids — plus coffee for parents and caretakers.
