Six men have been arrested by the Illinois State Police for allegedly attempting to engage in commercial sex acts with underage individuals, following a two-day investigation in the Bloomington area.
The ISP conducted the operation as part of a multifaceted effort to address human trafficking. The Bloomington Police Department and the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office were among the agencies cooperating in the sting conducted on Wednesday and Thursday.
The men arrested included two Bloomington residents — Nathan J. Hansen and David B. Teran. Hansen, 45, faces six felony charges that include solicitation of a child on the internet and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Teran, 25, faces five counts, including those same charges.
The others arrested on similar criminal counts include: Steve Adma, 21, of Galesburg; Khalid M. Farah, 21, of Arlington Heights; Larry M. Miller, 60, of Tolono; and Michael A. Morris, 33, of Forest City.
According to an ISP news release, the operation sought to identify individuals participating in human trafficking to compel victims into commercial sex acts, labor or services against their will.
