Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of Jan. 17-19, 2025, curated by WGLT's Lauren Warnecke. You can find more coverage on our Datebook - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WGLT's Weekend Scoop email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

Less serious than LuLaRoe: Coalescence Theatre Project presents a world-premiere mockumentary about a mom group who accidentally formed a cult while trying to Eat, Pray, Love together. 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Normal Theater; tickets $8 at normaltheater.com.

A group hang with approachable ambience: The trio of musicians behind Swim Ignorant Fire’s latest, lovely album will play an official release show at Reverberation Vinyl. It is, like it sounds, a record store, so if you’re not prepared to stand or sit on the floor, bring a milk crate or tiny travel stool and prepare to get cozy with your neighbors in the stacks. 6 p.m. Saturday; donations accepted at the door. facebook.com/reverberationvinyl.

A musical sparkler: The effervescent mini-suite inspired by Baroque fireworks display, Spectacle of Light, formed the foundation for Illinois Symphony’s winter chamber concert. 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Second Presbyterian Church; tickets $34 at ilsymphony.org.
