Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of March 7-9, 2025, curated by WGLT's Lauren Warnecke. You can find more coverage on our Datebook - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WGLT's Weekend Scoop email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.
Feel good: A musical about embracing difference and finding your voice comes to the BCPA ahead of a 10-day off-Broadway run. Label•less began as an acting exercise at the Cincinnati arts nonprofit run by boy band and DWTS star Drew Lachey and his wife Lea (who’s no slouch, either). Lea Lachey, a former Rockette, choreographed the jukebox-style musical, which now includes several original songs by a top tier team. 7 p.m. Saturday at Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts; tickets $21-$45 at 309-434-2777 and artsblooming.org.
Do spells: YA converges with classical music as the Illinois Symphony Orchestra plays music from the Harry Potter franchise. Muggles, wizards and even grown-ups are welcome. 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Illinois State University’s Center for Performing Arts; tickets $30-$70 at 309-438-2523 and ilsymphony.org.
Root for the underdogs: Washington and Peoria are among the teams competing for the top prize in women’s high school basketball. Bloomington-Normal gets the courtside view of the state’s next-gen WNBA hopefuls. Through Sunday at CEFCU arena; tickets $11 at goredbirds.evenue.net or $12 (cash only) at the North gate. visitBN.org.
