A Bloomington man faces sentencing in July after pleading guilty in a reckless homicide case.
Kameron Major, 28, reached a plea agreement on charges tied to a September 2023 crash in the 1800 block of Springfield Road in Bloomington, according to McLean County court records.
A 27-year-old passenger, Travaye Clayton of Bloomington, died in the crash.
A grand jury indicted Major in December 2023 and he was arrested by Bloomington Police a short time later.
Police said Major fled the scene of the fiery crash and officers found him several hundred yards away with the help of a police dog.
Major pleaded guilty to a felony count of reckless homicide involving a motor vehicle, three misdemeanor charges of obstructing justice/destroying evidence and a charge of improper lane usage. Prosecutors agreed to drop one traffic charge of failure to reduce speed.
Major is scheduled to be sentenced July 11 by McLean County judge Amy McFarland.
