A car crash into the Kohl's Department store in building Bloomington early on Monday.

A vehicle reportedly crashed into the Kohl's Department store at Eastland Mall in Bloomington early Monday.

The Bloomington Fire Department says the crash ignited a fire along the exterior wall of the building. The crash happened shortly before 4 a.m.

The fire department says no one was in the car when crews arrived on scene. The vehicle was found partially inside the store.

“This incident is ongoing, with crews continuing to fight fire in large, hidden areas along the exterior wall. Access to this part of the building is difficult, requiring extensive use of hand tools and saws on the roof,” fire department spokesperson Frank Friend said in a news release.

The fire department is asking the public to stay away from the area for now.
