A Bloomington preschool is closing its doors, further squeezing child care options in the Twin Cities.
A spokesperson for the Massachusetts-based Bright Horizons confirmed plans to cease operating in Bloomington. The company said they "are committed to supporting our families through this transition and are working to accommodate them at other Bright Horizons centers."
The closest nearby facility affiliated with Bright Horizons is in Peoria, according to their website.
Staff were not authorized to speak publicly about the closure, which is expected to take place by the end of the year. One person who works at Bright Horizons at Bloomington confirmed parents and staff have been notified.
The nationally accredited center provides child care for infants and toddlers, plus preschool and kindergarten prep.
