Unit 5 schools closed Monday due to frigid forecast; District 87 will do e-learning

Here is a look at the lowest wind chills expected overnight into Monday morning.

The Unit 5 school district has canceled school for Monday, Jan. 26, because of expected frigid temperatures. Bloomington's District 87 will do an e-learning day.

Unit 5's cancellation is a traditional weather day with no e-learning. This day will be made up at the end of the school year.

Wind chills are expected to dip down to 22 below zero overnight into Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. A cold weather advisory is in effect until noon Monday.

  • Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington - closed Monday
  • Lifelong Access - all programs and scheduled appointments are canceled Monday
