The Cooksville Fire Department called the Octavia, Ellsworth, Towanda, Lexington and LeRoy fire departments for help in fighting the fire.

The Longbranch Again bar in Cooksville was heavily damaged in an early morning fire Saturday in Cooksville. It is considered to be nearly a total loss.

Cooksville is about 15 miles east of Bloomington-Normal along Route 165. The Cooksville Fire Department responded to the fire and called for mutual aid due to the size of the blaze. The Octavia, Ellsworth, Towanda and Lexington departments responded. The ambulance service from LeRoy also responded.

No injuries were reported.

“We can’t tell ya how much of a loss it is to us on the department and the community,” the Cooksville department said on Facebook. “The bar was the biggest staple of the community.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
