Heartland Community College students in the Technical Education division will soon train with the same technology used by landscape professionals.

Reinhart Landscaping & Snow in Bloomington partnered with the power equipment company Kress to donate more than $20,000 in robotic lawn mowers and electric commercial landscaping equipment to the college. The donation includes autonomous mowing technology and battery-powered landscape tools.

The equipment is intended to support instruction in emerging technologies, including high-voltage battery systems and advanced power platforms, and to help prepare students interested in grounds maintenance, landscaping and outdoor power equipment operations.

“Partnering with Kress and Heartland Community College allows us to support students with real-world tools and experience that will benefit them long after graduation,” said Todd Reinhart, CEO of Reinhart Landscaping & Snow.

Reinhart Landscaping & Snow serves Central Illinois, including Bloomington-Normal, Peoria, Champaign and surrounding communities.
