Man seriously injured in shooting in Normal

Police are investigating a shooting late Thursday that seriously injured a man in Normal. One suspect is in custody.

It happened around 11:50 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of North Golfcrest Road in Normal, police said. That's a neighborhood with many apartment buildings just south of Raab Road.

The victim was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition, police said. One suspect is in custody.

"Based on the information gathered thus far, investigators believe this was an isolated incident in which the victim and suspect are known to one another. There is no information currently to indicate an ongoing threat to the public," Normal Police said.
