A reality television show is in search of historically significant, rare and unique items as the American Pickers hit the road to film restoration master Mike Wolfe, who owns an Iowa shop called Antique Archaeology, as he and a team of "pickers" sift through private collections and disorganized junk piles in search of untapped potential.
The History Channel show, which has aired since 2010 and tallied more than 400 episodes, is looking for leads across Illinois. The crew purchases relics in various states of disrepair from private collectors and homes, restores and resells them.
The call for relics invites people with unique stories and items to contact the show at americanpickers@cineflix.com and 646-493-2184 for consideration, with filming scheduled to take place in Illinois and Iowa this September.
Those interested are asked to provide their name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos.
The show does not pick stores, flea markets, malls, auctions, museums or businesses open to the public.
The announcement comes amid rumors American Pickers was not continuing after a batch of episodes ended in April. It was later confirmed the show is on a production hiatus and will continue its 27th season with new episodes following this fall filming tour.
