BroMenn Fine

Advocate BroMenn Medical Center will pay a $55,000 fine after failing to have a heart surgeon on call. This led to a man's death after being transported 40 minutes to another medical center while enduring chest trauma.

Discriminatory or Dutiful? 

The only female police officer in the village of Hudson was let go from her position after becoming pregnant. Locals are speaking out against her removal under the Illinois Human Rights Act.

Unexpected Regulations

Illinois Congressmen Adam Kinzinger and Rodney Davis are supporting the ban of bump-stocks from civilian use. The device turns a semi-automatic weapon into an automatic one. The Las Vegas shooter apparently had these installed on the weapons used in this week's massacre. The NRA is also backing this reform.

Why Bloomington Has A High Offender Population

Bloomington has services to aid the mental health of sex offenders other areas do not, according to Bloomington Police Officer Shawn Albert, who oversees the registry.
