Fake Cop Pulls Over, Attacks Victim In Rural Bloomington

The McLean County sheriff's department is looking for the public's help finding a suspect who impersonated a police officer during a traffic stop over the weekend.
The incident happened Saturday in rural Bloomington on McLean County 700 North Road, west of Downs and south of Bloomington. A male suspect used flashing lights to get the victim to pull over and then approached the victim's car, the sheriff's department said in a Facebook post. The suspect tried unsuccessfully to subdue the victim. The victim was able to drive away.
The suspect vehicle was described as a midsize black, four-door car with blue lights in the front and back windows. The suspect was described as a thin-build white male in his 40s.
"As always, if you are suspicious about the vehicle or person attempting to pull you over, immediately contact 911," the sheriff's department said in a statement.
