Police say a Bloomington man wanted on murder charges following the triple homicide last month on Riley Drive has been taken into custody.
Bloomington Police said officers in Milwaukee conducting a drug investigation Thursday night arrested Sydney Mays Jr., 25, and several others on drug charges. Mays had been on the run since last week when police announced he was wanted for the killings of three men at an apartment on Riley Drive on June 18.
Police say Mays faces six counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and aggravated battery.
Killed in the shooting were Corey Jackson, 22, Nathaniel Pena, 22, and Juan Perez-Macedo, 33, all of Bloomington. A 4-year-old boy was also shot but survived.
Bloomington Police say a team of its detectives and staff from the McLean County state’s attorney’s office have traveled to Milwaukee to continue the investigation.

Thursday's arrest means police have made an arrest in all three multiple homicides in recent months in Bloomington-Normal. Christopher Harrison is charged in the fatal shootings April 25 at Lancaster Heights apartments in Normal. And Hammet Brown is charged in the June 10 slayings on Orchard Road in Bloomington.
Seven people were killed in gun violence in Bloomington-Normal in less than two months.
