Illinois State University’s fundraising campaign is getting some help from country singer Luke Bryan.
Bryan has established the Luke Bryan Farm Tour Scholarship at ISU, supporting students who are majoring in agriculture, ISU announced Tuesday. The scholarship is part of ISU’s $150 million comprehensive campaign, Redbirds Rising: The Campaign for Illinois State.
Four ISU students were already awarded the scholarship. They will attend Bryan’s Farm Tour stop in Pesotum on Friday, including a backstage meet-and-greet.
Bryan grew up the youngest son of a farmer in Georgia. He’s awarded scholarships to college students at other campuses too. As of May, more than 50 scholarships have been granted.
Through the Redbirds Rising campaign, more than 45,000 donors have already contributed over $123 million in gifts and commitments since the campaign’s quiet phase began in 2013.
