Decatur suspects
Bloomington Police Department
Anthony Grampsas, left, and Tyjuan Bruce were arrested around 11:45 a.m. Monday in Decatur.

Two Decatur men were arrested Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old from Bloomington over a month ago.

Anthony Grampsas, 18, and Tyjuan Bruce, 20, were arrested around 11:45 a.m. Monday in Decatur by the U.S. Marshals Service, Bloomington Police said in a statement. They were identified as suspects in the Dec. 5 death of Egerton Dover. He was shot and killed in the 800 block of West Jefferson Street, where he lived.

Police have declined to release any information about what led to Dover's death. That continued Monday.

"While arrests have been made, (BPD) still considers this an ongoing investigation. Therefore, additional information will not be disclosed at this time," police said.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Grampsas and Bruce on Monday after a monthlong investigation. They were transported to the McLean County jail, police said.

They're expected to make their first court appearance Tuesday, said McLean County State's Attorney Don Knapp. He declined further comment on the case.

Dover, a 2016 University High School graduate, was one of nine people killed by gunfire in Bloomington-Normal in 2018. Ten others were shot but survived.

Anyone with information about Dover's case is asked to contact Detective Fanelli at (309) 434-2457, Detective Roth at (309) 434-2379, or the department’s main line at (309) 820-8888.
