UPDATED 8:30 p.m. | A 29-year-old from Bloomington remained at large Wednesday after escaping from the Illinois Department of Corrections during an arrest.
IDOC was trying to take James Snow into custody on an active warrant Tuesday when he escaped and fled, Bloomington Police said. He was being sought in the area of Cardinal Ridge trailer park in south Bloomington, police said. He had not yet been captured as of Wednesday morning, police said.
Snow was paroled April 10 after serving prison time on residential burglary and drug charges coming out of McLean County. He violated the conditions of his parole, said IDOC spokesperson Lindsey Hess.
Snow is 6-foot tall, 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, gray pants and no shoes. He was also still handcuffed but not armed. He also has several tattoos, including "Convict" on his left forearm and a cross on his right forearm, according to IDOC records. If you see Snow, call 911 immediately.
Nearby Cedar Ridge Elementary School was put on lockout status Tuesday, officials said. That meant no one was allowed into or out of the building.
