UPDATED 9:10 a.m. | No one was injured after a small fire broke out in the basement of a home early Tuesday near the Illinois Wesleyan University campus.

The fire happened around 3:47 a.m. at 505 University Ave., between Evans and McLean streets and just east of IWU, the Bloomington Fire Department said.

Officials said the fire started with a dehumidifier. Damage was contained to a corner of the basement and is estimated at $300.

The fire displaced one family.

It was the second house fire in as many days. Three families were displaced from their home after a fire on Locust Street on Sunday night.
