UPDATED 11:20 a.m. | Authorities have identified the 53-year-old man who's been charged with murder in connection with a triple homicide Christmas Day in Livingston County.

Clifford W. Brewer of Cullom was being held at the Livingston County jail on three counts of first-degree murder, Illinois State Police said in a statement Thursday.

Brewer was arrested after three bodies were found early Wednesday at 416 E. Jackson St. in Cullom. The victims were a 51-year-old man, a 48-year-old woman, and a 27-year-old man. Their names have not been released.

"The pending investigation (indicates) that this is an isolated incident and it is believed that there is no immediate threat or danger to the safety of the community," Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress said in a statement Wednesday.

Cullom, with a population of just over 500, is located around 60 miles northeast of Bloomington-Normal.

Cullom Mayor Barbara Hahn acknowledged the triple homicide Wednesday on Twitter. (Her account has since been deleted or hidden from public view.)

"Our first responders and families involved sure could use some prayers of comfort. God knows who needs the help," Hahn wrote. "It can happen anywhere!"

It's unclear when Brewer will make his first court appearance. It had been scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Authorities later said a bond hearing was scheduled for Friday.

State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
