Illinois State University has named professors in technology and mathematics as its new distinguished professors.

The university provost's office cited Anu Gokhale for her work as an internationally known scholar in computing.
Her research has focused on networks, algorithms and data analytics, and she's received more than $2 million for research projects.
Gokhale has been a professor at ISU since 1995.
ISU is also honoring Krzysztof Ostaszewski for his efforts to make ISU's actuarial program one of the strongest in the world, according to university officials. The program was the first in Illinois to be named a Center for Actuarial Excellence in 2009.
Ostaszewski has been professor at ISU for 20 years.
