A 39-year-old from Normal was arrested Sunday night after allegedly hitting a pedestrian while driving under the influence with two children in his truck.
Joshua T. Schaller faces several preliminary charges, including child endangerment, DUI, and aggravated reckless driving, Bloomington Police said Monday.
Schaller allegedly struck the pedestrian, a bench, and a utility pole in the 1000 block of West Market Street on Sunday night. Police said they found Schaller after he ran off the road and crashed into another vehicle in the 900 block of West Mulberry Street.
The 38-year-old pedestrian was transported to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center with minor injuries. The children in the truck were released to a parent or guardian shortly after the incident.
Schaller was being held at the McLean County jail.
