A third residet of the Bloomington Rehabilitation and Health Care Center has died of COVID-19, health officials said Sunday.

The COVID-19 outbreak at a Bloomington nursing home continued to worsen Sunday, killing another person and adding five more confirmed cases.

The latest death was a woman in her 70s who had underlying health conditions and already was hospitalized. She is the third resident at the Bloomington Rehabilitation and Health Care Center to die after contracting COVID-19, the McLean County Health Department said Sunday.

There were nine new cases of COVID-19 reported Sunday in McLean County. Five of them were staff at the center, 1925 S. Main St. That outbreak has now grown to 28 residents and 10 staff members.

McLean County's total confirmed cases now stand at 170. Of those, 52 are isolating at home, and six are hospitalized. The 58 active cases is the highest number since the pandemic began. Six people have died.

Meanwhile, the drive-thru testing site at the Interstate Center in Bloomington remains open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. McLean County officials said 131 people were tested Saturday — the highest total for a Saturday since the drive-thru opened in late March.
