McLean County health officials announced one new COVID-19 case on Wednesday as the rate of coronavirus infection continues to slow.

The McLean County Health Department announced two more COVID-19 patients have recovered. The county currently has 12 confirmed cases that are still active. Each resident is isolating at home. None are hospitalized. Nearly 90% have recovered. Thirteen have died.
The county’s total of confirmed coronavirus cases stands at 243. That includes four new cases in the last five days.
The McLean County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) said testing has seen a recent increase at the Interstate Center in Bloomington. On Tuesday, 113 residents received tests. The site, run by Pekin-based Redutis, has averaged 120 daily tests over the last seven week days since June 8.
The site is open to everyone from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Walmart in Normal has started to offer COVID-19 testing from 7 to 9 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, 10,324 McLean County residents have been tested for COVID-19. That’s 6% of the county’s population.
