Bloomington Public Library reopens Monday. Browsing the books is allowed, but patrons are encouraged to make visits as quick as possible.

Bloomington Public Library’s catalog has been open to the public with curbside pickup. But starting Monday the library will open its doors, too.

Most of the library’s services will reopen, and a small number of the computers will be available for non-entertainment use. To use one of the computers, you must call (309) 828-6093 to schedule a one-hour appointment. The library does ask that patrons try to make their book-browsing visits quickly.

The library will be reserved for high-risk customers between 9 and 10 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The library will then open to the rest of the public until closing time.

The BPL’s Bookmobile will return to its usual 48-stop rotation. Patrons will not be allowed to browse the Bookmobile.

For those uncomfortable going inside the library to browse and check out or return books, the BPL will continue providing curbside pickup service.

Patrons are asked to wear a mask, for both the library and the Bookmobile.

The Normal Public Library has not yet announced reopening plans. It’s also offering curbside service.
