WGLT Presents logo

WCBU and WGLT Present is a limited, short-run series featuring cultural arts organizations throughout central Illinois that are unable to perform in front of a live audience because of COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings.

The show will air Friday evenings following NPR News, at 8 p.m. on 89.9 FM, 89.1 FM, WCBU.org and WGLT.org. Episode length will vary, but will range from 30 to 120 minutes.

The series will debut Oct. 9 with Peoria Symphony Orchestra’s Four Seasons and continue Oct. 30 with Heartland Theatre Company’s production of The War of the Worlds classic radio drama. Additional performances will be announced.

“WGLT and WCBU are proud to partner with cultural arts organizations throughout central Illinois to help bring their performances to a wider audience,” said R.C. McBride, general manager, WCBU & WGLT.

“Radio brings people together even when COVID-19 restrictions require we remain apart and live, in-person audiences must be limited. WCBU and WGLT have been a longtime cultural arts partners in the community, and extending air-time to our friends in need during the pandemic is a no-brainer and a win-win.”

Cultural arts organizations that wish to be considered for this series should contact WCBU & WGLT Development Director Melissa Libert.
