The McLean County Health Department reported 21 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, as two more people were admitted to the hospital.
The number of hospitalized patients is now 11 with three in intensive care. That means two more patients went into the ICU overnight.
The county’s active caseload sits at 155, continuing a five-day downward trend. Another 51 people are now considered recovered.
The county's testing positivity rate ticked up slightly to 2.7%, said the health department.
Illinois State University added two new confirmed COVID-19 cases among students, bringing its active caseload to 21. The university’s testing positivity rate continued to drop, to 1.1% ,with 289 more test results reported in the past 24 hours, according to ISU's COVID-19 data dashboard.
ISU just surpassed 10,000 tests conducted on campus since the start of the semester, under its largely optional testing strategy. By comparison, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which requires testing for students and staff, has conducted more than 430,000 tests.
