Mr. Grinnell was born February 16, 1931, in Chicago, IL; the son of Flint and Mildred (Collins) Grinnell Sr. He married Millicent House on September 5, 1953, in Cleveland, OH.

Flint was preceded in death by his wife, Millicent, his parents, his sister Greta Grinnell, and great-grandson Colton. He is survived by his children, Susan (Clayton) Rosenberger of Chenoa; Flint Grinnell III of Deerfield; Colleen Rutledge of Sedro-Woolley, WA; Salissa (Steven) Whaley of Lexington; fourteen grandchildren: Sheryl, Flint IV, Brian, Alison, John, Clifton, Katherine, Michael, William, James, Michelle, Ryan, Audrey, Kelly; and thirty-two great-grandchildren.

Flint was employed at the Chicago Printing and Engraving Company where he held territory sales positions. Upon moving to Chenoa in the 1970’s Flint joined Midwest Travel Agency as a sales manager. Midwest Travel Agency was the first travel agency in Bloomington, IL which was owned and operated by Flint’s sister, Greta Grinnell. After Greta retired, Flint owned and operated Rainbow Travel in Bloomington, IL. Flint and Millicent were the owners-operators of “The Old Chenoa Company” (Antique Store) in Chenoa for over 40 years. Through the years the love that they shared of antiques led them to shows covering a majority of the Midwest, allowing them to combine the two things that they loved traveling and antiques.

Flint was also a member of The Mayflower Society, Rotary Club International, as well as numerous volunteer and other civic duties in his communities. Flint was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow award for his contributions to Rotary Club International. He enjoyed traveling, rose gardening, and spending time with his family who will miss him deeply.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you for the care given to Flint by Dr. Jeong, Dr. Sriratana, and especially the Comfort Care unit of Carle BroMenn, Normal over the last several years.
