Floyd E. Heffren, Eureka

Floyd E. Heffren, 82, of Eureka, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

His funeral Mass will be held at Noon, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington, with Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

Memorials may be made to the Heart House in Eureka.

Floyd was born August 24, 1942, in Canton, the son of Lawrence and Hazel Wrestler Heffren. He married Melvina Johnson, and she preceded him in death in 1979. He married Kathleen Zalucha on December 20, 1992, and she survives.

Also surviving are three children, Vic Heffren, Bloomington, Norm (Bridget) Heffren and Cindy Heffren, both of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two brothers, Gearold (Sue) Heffren, Pekin and Otis Heffren, Lewistown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Rossie Heffren and two sisters, Darlene Hood and Annabell Clark.

Floyd graduated from Lewistown High School. He worked for Caterpillar for many years, retiring as manager of office supplies on February 1, 2000. He also worked for Kroger as grocery manager for many years.

Floyd was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Eureka. He enjoyed vacationing in Gulf Shores and was an avid car enthusiast.
