Mark Hill

Chief Engineer

Born and raised in central Illinois, Mark graduated from Bloomington High School in 1977. Following the allure of radio, Mark enrolled at Brown College in Minneapolis. After several stints on the air, it was apparent that Mark was better suited to broadcast engineering.

Returning to Bloomington–Normal, Mark worked for ITC/3M, a broadcast equipment manufacturer for the next 10 years. During this time Mark started a family and took on a second job as engineer at WZND, the student radio station at ISU. When his second child came along, so did another job –engineer at GLT.

In 1990, Mark accepted the position of Chief Engineer for WIRL, WSWT, WMBD, and WPBG, Peoria. In 2002, after 18 years of part time service for GLT and WZND, Mark became full time Chief Broadcast Engineer for both stations.
