Cindy Jackson, general manager of the Central Illinois FarmFED Cooperative, attended the 2022 Live Local Conference to share the recent progress of their initiative in Mt. Pulaski to develop a processing and distribution hub for locally produced foods.

In Episode 9 of the food and farming series Food Trek, Tory Dahlhoff and co-producer Allison Walsh check in with the Central Illinois FarmFED Cooperative in Mount Pulaski, in Logan County.

You'll hear from Jeff Hake, a central Illinois farmer and local foods advocate who helped launch the initiative, and Cindy Jackson, the new manager of the Central Illinois FarmFED Cooperative.

The cooperatively owned local food hub is a place where farmers can bring their products for processing, storage and ultimately for wholesale distribution to retailers and institutions throughout the region.
