The Next To Normal Story Slam is back after its pandemic hiatus with a new schedule. Instead of every month, the Story Slam happens every three months at the McLean County Arts Center.

Another change is the setup. For the first half of the night, there are scheduled storytellers, and for the second half of the night there is more of an open mic. People put there names in a bowl and are called up to tell their stories based on the theme of the night.

One of those recent themes was "Luck" — the good kind and the bad — and Kevin Lee was one of the first open-mic storytellers. Listen to his story above.

The next Story Slam is scheduled for November at the McLean County Arts Center, with the theme of thanks or gratitude.
