8-Year-Old Boy Killed in Accidental Peoria Shooting Identified

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the young boy killed yesterday in a shooting police deemed accidental. Jordin Wilson, 8, died Wednesday afternoon at OSF Saint Francis after he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at a home in the 2300 block of N. Maryland, in Peoria's East Bluff neighborhood.

Police say the shooting was caused by children handling a handgun.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today. The incident is still under investigation by the Peoria Police Department and Peoria County Coroner's Office.
