Police are investigating an armed robbery Tuesday night at a Family Dollar store on Bloomington's west side. No one was injured.
The robbery happened around 8:24 p.m. at Family Dollar, 1512 W. Market St., police said.
The suspect entered the store, pointed a gun at an employee, and demanded money, police said. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and left on foot.
It's unclear if the suspect is the so-called Business Bandit, who police have connected with at least seven robberies in Bloomington-Normal since December.
"At this time it is still under investigation and we are investigating it as a single crime until we have more information to connect them to the other robberies," Bloomington Police spokesperson John Fermon said Wednesday.
The Family Dollar suspect was described as a black male, about 6-foot tall with a slim build, wearing black clothes, and face partially covered.
Anyone with information is asked to contact BPD Detective Steve Moreland at (309) 434-2359 or McLean County Crime Stoppers at (309) 828-1111.
