McLean County Board member Jacob Beard has announced he's running for re-election next year.
The Bloomington Republican is serving his first term on the board.
Beard counts as successes moving meeting times to evenings, keeping the tax rate flat, and expanding the county's mental health efforts.
Beard represents District 7 which covers much of east Bloomington.
“There is a lot of drama in politics right now, however I stand for an effective and solution-oriented approach to governing which recognizes that our faith, culture, families and civil society are what makes our community great,” Beard said.
Beard is a bank business analyst at State Farm.
Beard already faces a challenger in the general election. Val Laymon is seeking the Democratic nomination.
