BPD Seeks Mob Action Charges Against 3 After Shots Fired Incident

Bloomington Police arrested Derrell Hibbler, 21, Lardarius Caroll, 21, and Tiquan Hamer, 23, on Tuesday.

Police have arrested three Bloomington men in connection with a shots fired incident on Tuesday which led to the temporary lockdown of a nearby grade school.
Bloomington Police were called to the 800 block of East Washington Street shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an armed subject and shots fired.

Police said several people fled on foot as officers arrived on scene. Officers said they found physical evidence that at least one shot was fired.

Police tracked the suspects to an apartment building in the 700 block of East Jefferson Street, where they found a firearm and ammunition.

Officers arrested Derrell Hibbler, 21, Lardarius Caroll, 21, and Tiquan Hamer, 23, all of Bloomington. Police are seeking felony mob action charges against them.

District 87 officials placed nearby Washington Elementary School on lockdown while the incident unfolded, but students were dismissed on time after police told them the area was safe.

Police said there were no injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
