A Germantown Hills church attended by a Woodford County man who tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday is closed until further notice.
Willow Hill United Methodist Church is suspending all services and activities. Pastor Bradley Watkins said the man attended the 11 a.m. service on March 8, when he was believed to be contagious but asymptomatic.
"He is mildly ill, and we believe will make a full and complete recovery," said Watkins. "But we have done our best to keep all safe and to observe all the health regulations and suggestions for making our space ready and available once again."
The church is currently being disinfected. It will no longer serve as a polling place for the March 17 primary.
The Woodford County man is in his 70s. He's currently in isolation at his home. He's the first confirmed positive COVID-19 case in Central Illinois.
