Former Dunlap Music Teacher Exchanged 41K Texts With Underaged Student: Report

A former Dunlap music teacher arrested on sexual abuse charges in Colorado allegedly sent more than 41,000 texts to an underaged female student over a six-month period.

The texts exchanged by 32-year-old Christopher Adams-Wenger and the student happened over the time period they were sexually active together. Some of the texts were reportedly sexually explicit. That’s according to the Greeley Tribune.

Adams-Wenger is a Bradley University graduate. He taught at schools in Peoria and Dunlap before moving to Colorado.

Dunlap Superintendent Dr. Scott Dearman said Adams-Wenger resigned in 2016 when his wife got a job in Colorado. He said there were no reports of misconduct during his time at Dunlap schools.

He was arrested last week following a police investigation. He’s being held on $100,000 bond.

As a matter of disclosure, Christopher Adams Wenger is the son of former WCBU Announcer Lee Wenger.
