An ISU geology professor is one of the founding members of a group that is releasing a report today on warming lakes. Catherine O’Reilly won a fraction of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize as a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. WGLT's Jim Browne sits down with her to determine the extent, and ramifications of the phenomenon.

Catherine O'Reilly has appeared in National Geographic for her work documenting changes at Lake Tanganyika, one of only a handful of 'ancient' lakes on earth. In addition to claiming a fraction of the Nobel Peace Prize, she is the recipient of numerous other awards, including the “Best excuse for SCUBA diving in the tropics” Special Award in 1999.
