Kyle Brestan was sentenced Monday to 60 years in prison for killing a Washington woman at a Bloomington hotel in 2017.
Brestan was convicted in December of killing Shannon Hastings. Authorities said he stabbed her more than 100 times, and left her body in a room at the EconoLodge on the city’s west side.
His sentenced was handed down by Judge Casey Costigan on Monday afternoon at the McLean County courthouse.
Brestan also must serve 36 years in an unrelated child pornography case. He pleaded guilty to those charges ahead of his murder trial.
