LaSalle Health Officials: COVID-19 Spreading Through Community

Centers for Disease Control

Health officials in LaSalle County say COVID-19 is spreading through community contact.

A man in his 40s tested positive for the virus. He had no prior travel history or contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case. He's currently at home in isolation.

LaSalle County's first confirmed case last week was a Seneca Township High School student.

LaSalle County Health Department Administrator Julie Kerestes said community spread is happening. The health department said everyone should assume they've been exposed to COVID-19 and act accordingly. All residents are encouraged to stay at home, maintain a 6-foot social distance from others, and wash their hands.
