After six years with YWCA McLean County, President and CEO D. Dontae Latson is leaving the organization.

Vice President of Operations Liz German will serve as interim president and CEO starting June 24.

In a written statement, Latson said German is “the right person to take the organization to the next level.”

“I’m proud of the work our phenomenal team has done and have every confidence in the future of the YW with a great team under Liz’s (German’s) leadership,” Latson said.

German has worked at YWCA McLean County in various roles since 2007, including director of the Young Wonders program.

She said in her role as interim president, she hopes to explore additional public-private partnerships in the community.

“Strong relationships with our area leaderships, schools, hospitals and other(s) who serve our diverse populations will ensure a strong community,” German said.

Outgoing Latson accepted a position at an affordable housing nonprofit in Denver.
