Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead behind Washington Plaza on Wednesday morning.
Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said authorities were notified just after 9:20 a.m. Hanley pronounced the man dead at 10:15 a.m.
His name is being withheld pending family notification. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
It's unclear if foul play is suspected.
The Washington Police Department, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Tazewell County Coroner's Office are investigating.
