A man suffered serious injuries Monday after he was shot at a Peoria liquor store.
Peoria police spokeswoman Amy Dotson said John McKee, 39, got into an argument with a shop clerk at Sherman Liquors, 3801 N. Sterling, just before 6 p.m.
When the altercation turned physical, another shop clerk, Ehad Asad, 20, allegedly pulled a gun and fired at McKee, hitting him in the leg. His injuries were considered serious and life-threatening. He's now in stable condition.
Asad was arrested for aggravated battery with a firearm. McKee was arrested for aggravated battery, but remains hospitalized.
