McLean County has exceeded 15,000 vaccine doses administered to residents. The department's vaccine clinics continue to fill up fast.

The McLean County Health Department reported 57 new confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, as the county’s testing positivity rate ticked up slightly to 4.5%.The new cases bring the county’s total since the start of the pandemic to 13,942.

There are currently 23 people from McLean County hospitalized with COVID-19. That’s one additional patient overnight.

Hospital bed capacity improved slightly. Intensive care bed use is at 73%, down from 81% on Tuesday. More than 20% of beds are open for the first time in more than a week.

Another 398 people are isolating at home, while an additional 50 are now considered recovered.

No new deaths were reported. The death toll stands at 152 since March.

About 15,000 vaccine doses have been administered in McLean County so far, including 2,900 people who have received both doses, according to MCHD and state data.

All appointments at the McLean County Health Department (MCHD) and Carle BroMenn Medical Center vaccine clinics are currently full. Appointment slots for first-dose vaccine clinics open at mid-day on Thursdays, once the number of doses being received from the state for the following week is known.

The health department urges people who scheduled an appointment for the vaccine clinics at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, or the Activity and Recreation Center in Normal, to make sure they received confirmation of the order. It should come in the form of a downloadable ticket.

Also, the Illinois Department of Public Health has added information on vaccination clinic locations to its website.
