McLean County's COVID-19 testing positivity rate dipped to 1.9% Tuesday, marking just the second time since August that it's fell below 2%.

McLean County health officials are reporting seven new confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases. That marks the first time since mid-October the daily case count is in the single digits.

Also on Tuesday, the testing positivity rate dropped to 1.9%--only the second time the positivity rate has dipped below 2% since August.

Currently, there are 17 people from McLean County hospitalized with COVID-19. That’s up one from Monday. Another 171 people are isolating at home, while an additional 34 people are now considered recovered.

Fewer Bloomington-Normal hospital beds are open. About 85% of intensive care beds are in use, up from 77% on Monday. Just 5% of all beds are available.

To date, 14,198 McLean County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. The cumulative testing positivity rate since last March is 5.9%.

The new cases reported Tuesday were found in a batch of about 1,300 test results.

About 434 additional COVID vaccine doses were administered in the past 24 hours, according to data from the McLean County Health Department.  State figures show just under 7% of the county’s population have been fully vaccinated with two doses.
