McLean County health officials on Monday reported 164 more COVID-19 cases confirmed over the weekend, as the county’s testing positivity rate dipped slightly to 5.3%.
It marks the highest weekend case count since Jan. 19. The new cases were found in a batch of about 3,100 test results returned since Friday. McLean County’s total caseload since the start of the pandemic totals 16,324.
The number of county residents hospitalized with COVID-19 held at a record 45. Bed capacity improved slightly. Intensive care bed use dropped from 88% to 81%. Total available bed space doubled to 4%.
The active caseload climbed over 600 for the first time in nearly three months, with 561 county residents isolating at home. An additional 148 people are now considered recovered.
Around 93,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in McLean County—an increase of more than 9,000 doses over the weekend.
About 37,500 county residents are fully vaccinated. That’s more than 21.5% of the population, but still about a percentage point behind the state average.
