A Pekin man reported missing was found dead in the Illinois River.
Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said the body of Phillip Winger, 42, was found Friday on the east banks of river, on state property near Lick Creek's outlet in North Pekin on Friday. Hanley said no foul play is suspected.
Winger left his home on the north side of Pekin Thursday morning without telling anyone where he was going. He suffered from a heart condition. It is unknown if he had his medication when he left home.
Investigators and the coroner were transported to the scene via boat due to the difficulty in reaching the location. Winger's body was recovered and transported to a boat launch in Bartonville.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday morning.
