Police Find Teen Driver After Hit-And-Run Injures Child

Police say they have found the teenage driver who allegedly injured an 8-year-old during a hit-and-run accident Friday afternoon on Bloomington's west side.

The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Friday near Taylor and Allin streets, Bloomington police said. The vehicle fled the scene, and the injured 8-year-old was taken to the hospital.

Police quickly found the vehicle and the suspected driver, a 16-year-old. The seriousness of the 8-year-old's injuries was not released.

"The investigation is continuing. There is nothing further to share at this time," police said.
