The mayor of Bloomington is already praising the new Coliseum management firm. Tari Renner said VenuWorks is a breath of fresh air compared to the previous firm, Central Illinois Arena Management.

"We've had lots of issues, constantly with CIAM trying to get information from them," Renner said. "We're getting assurances of openness and transparency. Within 30 to 60 days, we'll have the information. It will be on our website. If you want to know what's going on with the financials, you'll be able to see it now. We couldn't give it to people because we in the City didn't have it because CIAM wouldn't even give a lot of data to us."

VenuWorks has entered into a temporary agreement with the city and takes over Friday. Renner said CIAM was getting about 68 percent of gross receipts on concessions. VenuWorks will be getting a more industry standard five percent.
